‘Brighter Days’ in Bright

If you’re still not sure what to do over this long weekend, here’s another reason to come up to Bright.

The inaugural ‘Brighter Days’ event sounds great … and it’s free!

I wish we’d known about this earlier because, unfortunately, due to the slowdown caused by the recent (but now out!) Harrietville fire, Bright still has plenty of vacancies for what is normally a sold-out long weekend.

And even though we’re expecting more summer-like weather, so is everywhere else .

At least in Bright there’s no real humidity, plenty of shade, the beautiful river and at night it’s always much cooler.

Put simply, the weather in Bright is far better than in Melbourne – always.

So what are you waiting for?

Go to our enquiry page and book now   or, better still, just call us direct on 03 5755 1375.

NO FIRES IN THIS AREA

28th Feb 2013 – The Harrietville-Mt Hotham fire is out.

Following the latest heavy rains the DSE advises that there is no longer a fire threat in the mountains around Mt Hotham.

Bright was in fact never in danger, as the bushfire was located in remote mountain areas well removed and well south of the town.

The Great Alpine Road is expected to re-open soon and the scenery around Bright remains untouched and just as beautiful as ever.

March is looking like fine weather and, with Easter arriving at the end of the month, it’s expected to be quite busy.

Right now we still have some vacancies for the long weekend of 9, 10 & 11 March but suggest you book soon.

We look forward to seeing you in ‘Beautiful Bright’.

This is why you really should stay in Bright and not on the mountains this snow season

A typical sunny Winter's day in Beautiful Bright

… Because it’s warm, beautiful & affordable.

It’s not generally known, but Bright has much warmer Winters than Melbourne … and lots of fine sunny days. Sure, it often gets cold at night but our Winter days are usually more like fine Spring weather … without the ice-cold wind.

And, contrary to popular opinion, Winter is actually our quiet season as far as the number of tourists are concerned. That’s why we offer our:

Snow Season Special of 50% off accommodation  from your 3rd night onwards.

Bright is located in a very protected valley at the foothills of some of Victoria’s most renowned snow-topped mountains where you can enjoy skiing, tobogganing or just sightseeing or snow-play with the kids.

For serious skiers Mt Hotham & Falls Creek resorts are not far away. You can hire all your ski gear in Bright and, if you don’t want to drive up the mountain, there are regular buses from Bright that will take you right to the top.

And Mt Buffalo (which is ideal for sightseeing, snow-play & tobogganing) is even closer.

Bright offers plenty of interesting shops, two supermarkets and a wide-range of restaurants. We’re also close to the wineries.

Bright is a real Alpine village without the cold or high prices you have to pay for staying ‘up there’ !

Staying ‘off-mountain’ in Bright is the best and most affordable way to enjoy the delights of the snow season …

… without the cold and the cost!

Enquire now … you won’t regret it.

Bright is NOT flooded

Wednesday 7th March 2012

Contrary to the impression being given in the media, the town of Bright did not experience any flooding over the past week.

While we had plenty of rain, at no stage was the town under serious threat of flood or of being isolated from traffic.

And, most importantly, access to Bright via the normal routes of the Hume Highway, the Great Alpine & Snow roads are OPEN and in fact were never closed. See Vic Road Map of the North East for more info.

It’s quite clear that the areas that were more inundated were well to the west including Wangaratta, Yarrawonga and across to Shepparton. Bright and surrounds avoided the worst of the rain & flooding.

If you were planning to come up to Bright this week, there’s no need for concern.

The rain event is now over and it’s going to be fine & sunny - see Weatherzone website and 7-day forecast.

The message is clear:

Bright is safe and as beautiful as ever.

Grevillea Gardens apartments are now for individual sale

A great investment and/or holiday home

The Azaleas Are Blooming

27 September 2011: This year’s great Spring weather is bringing out the best in our gardens. The Azaleas have even arrived early while the Magnolias and Camelias are still in bloom. And the Dogwoods will be next. It’s a unique event, as usually one species follows another but this year – over the next few weeks – is clearly one of the best opportunities you’ll ever have to see Bright at its beautiful best. As these photos taken this week prove -

There’s nothing like Bright in Spring!

Note: click on each image to enlarge

Azaleas are the definitive Spring flower.

It's the best year yet for Camelias too.

And the majestic Magnolias are still going strong.

There’s really nothing like Bright in Spring -
