Bright is NOT flooded

Contrary to the impression being given in the media, the town of Bright did not experience any flooding over the past week.
While we had plenty of rain, at no stage was the town under serious threat of flood or of being isolated from traffic.
And, most importantly, access to Bright via the normal routes of the Hume Highway, the Great Alpine & Snow roads are OPEN and in fact were never closed. See Vic Road Map of the North East for more info.
It’s quite clear that the areas that were more inundated were well to the west including Wangaratta, Yarrawonga and across to Shepparton. Bright and surrounds avoided the worst of the rain & flooding.
If you were planning to come up to Bright this week, there’s no need for concern.
